Thank you, Rose. This is the most cogent post I've seen yet, and much more eloquent than my "there's plenty of wrong to go around, here". :)
I'm very happy to see the current rage for "healing", but the cynic in me can't help but wonder whether it's more the result of exhaustion and/or a short attention span than the actual resolution of anything. I agree that only action will truly make this better - playing nice is a good start, but while it might make things pass over, it's not going to make them forgotten.
It's much too late to pretend that no one was in the wrong, especially when there's so much wrong to go around. So let me start by owning my own emotional reactions, public or private, that may have fanned these flames. I'm sorry to have added to the load, beloved Kingdom of the West.
You are both wise, and we are lucky to have you here.
Let me also start by owning my actions, public and private, that may have fanned these flames. I apologize to any I may have hurt in the process, and hope they will speak with me directly so that we can reach an understanding, even if we cannot reach agreement.
I've always viewed the definition of valor pertaining only to situations of opposition, as in facing a battle foe with bravery & courage. I've not associated it with facing the humility of being human & making mistakes, as we all do. But you're right: "valor" is appropriate in the current situations plaguing the West. It's appropriate in my own life experiences, too. Thank you for expanding my mind. I love learning new things!

I freely admit to gossiping and making judgement calls about people before actually getting to know them.
