I used to post to this journal a lot more than I do now. Mostly, that's because real life has gotten in the way. I actually got a promotion at work, but they're still, nearly 120 days later trying to determine what my actual title is and how much the raise I'm supposed to get will be. The whole process has left me feeling angry and disillusioned

I got a dragon design in henna on my arm today. I really like the way that it looks. On the other arm, my hand is healing, finally. It does look like it's probably going to leave a scar. It could probably serve as a good reminder to be mindful of the pans when I cook

There is an Art-O-Mat in my city. I've been past it several times and each time, I really wanted to buy at least one or two of the pieces in it, but I just didn't have the cash on me. This week, I finally did. My world is happier with my little $5 piece of art that I purchased out of a recommissioned cigarette machine. I find it very cool that

I am still distressing paper at this point. It's getting softer and floppier, just like it's supposed to. Meanwhile, the snow continues to fall-or maybe fly is a better word, because the wind has really picked up, which is sending the snow sideways

This week is Banned Books Week. There are statistics and pie charts out on the American Libraries Association Website which will tell you how many books are challenged, the grounds for the challenge, and who did the challenging. You can also find lists from many different sources about the most frequently challenged books
