It rained yesterday. There was thunder and lightning. It actually rained hard enough that the city still smells nice and fresh. I thought about doing a post, but mostly, I stayed in and caught up on some of the cartoons that I'd recently purchased. I finally got my first disc of "Galaxy High School" on Tuesday, and I was very much looking forward to watching it, plus I had new comics to read, and I'm working on "Kushiel's Scion" by Jacqueline Carey. So, it was a busy day of mostly doing hobby kind of stuff, really.
My Mom finally broke down and got my dad the first volume of the "Looney Tunes Golden Collection" for his birthday. She called to ask me what it was, becuase she knew that I would know. I think she forgot that when I bought it, I brought it home for us to watch and Dad and I watched so many of them in a row that she decided we couldn't watch any more of them the rest of that trip. I know that Dad'll like it though, since it's got a lot of his favorites on it.
The Discovery Channel ran one of the Blue Planet specials this morning, one of the ones about deep ocean life. I, of course, had to watch it. There are so many beautiful, alien creatures in such an inhospitable environment, and they all move so gracefully. It's just mind-boggling that creatures that are so delicate can survive under such pressure and in such cold temperatures.
Otherwise, things are pretty usual around here. That isn't such a bad thing, all in all. It's nice having nothing better to do than go to Samurai Sam's for dinner (which was very good by the way, I'd never tried it before) and grab lots of chopsticks, because they'll work great to clean out beads.
I think this is what my boss was talking about when he said that I think outside the box. One day he told me that when "normal" people go to the store and see socks, they just see something to put on their feet, not something to make funny, cute stuffed creatures with. I told him it was those other people's loss, not mine.
Hm. I think this is long enough. Time to move on!
