When characters stop being polite and start getting real about getting their own story
A few months ago, this name popped into my head and my brain pretty much refused to let it go. I developed this whole look for him, gave him a bit of backstory and then...he seemed to sort of fizzle, or at least, he seemed to be content to settle into the background for a while.
I'm working on another piece, something that I need to submit for a deadline, and, all of the sudden, I get struck with this inspiration for him and it all ties in to so many other stories, in some surprising ways. I'm really amazed at the way the universe in my head connects sometimes. So, now I'm frantically taking notes for when I can finally sit down and write the whole thing.
Also, I have ordered comic books. It's been a long time since I've done that. At the rate things have gone this month, I could really use a good comic book/pizza/root beer float binge. Somehow, two phone calls actually ended up pretty much taking care of what I mistaken perceived to be a sort of calm week.
