Happier things are afoot, despite the absence of any Circle K stores

The time to get the moped out and start riding approaches. If this weekend remains tolerably nice, next week will be the time. I'll have to check the transmission fluid and tire pressure, of course, but once that's done, I should be good to go, at least to get some gasoline in it, but hopefully for a longer ride than that.

Free Comic Book Day is May 7 this year. I'll have one less comic book store to check out this year, which makes me sad, but at least there will be one for me to go to. Perhaps I shall ride the moped if the friend who usually joins me for these festivities can't join me.

I got to see Bill Plympton's latest animated feature last night. I'm going to be putting a review up at the BSCreview website about it this week. People deserve to be told so they too can experience the joy that is the warped, darkly comic world of Plympton. (Warning: he does NOT make cartoons for children, viewer discrection IS advised. Don't watch them in a room with small children or at work, just trust me on this one).

Things are otherwise pretty good. I'm still working my way through a bit of risidual anxiety about the stuff going on with the relative who's bad-mouthing me, but I'm getting over it. I know that it's all just her problem and it won't do any good to yell or confront anyone. Better to walk away with a simple "I'm done" and know that I didn't cause further damage.

I have better things to do, like go watch movies and write.

cartoons, moving on, movies, free comic book day, moped
