A Walk in the Park
It's a beautiful day, warm and sunny. I've been trying to write but the words just don't seem to want to come. So, I grab an notebook and a pen and an old blanket and walk down to the nearest park. I spend a few minutes wandering around, watching people laughing and talking and playing with their kids. I spot some squirrels and rabbits and a few birds. Then, finally I find a nice spot, with a tree to lean against and some shade. I spread out the blanket and take a seat, then start writing. At first, I start out just making a few notes about characters and where I want the plot to go, but soon, I start getting ideas for snippets of dialog and some paragraphs that I want to show up in the story. Occasionally, I need to go spend a little time in nature to get some inspiration.
