The book that Changed my life
It was a small, slim paperback with lots of illustrations, most of them in color. I'm sure that it came from either a museum or a historical site, but I got it so long ago I can't remember. What I do remember is discovering that prehistoric ocean floors teemed with life. I was immediately fascinated by the appearance of the heavily armored trilobites. Further into the book, I discovered the worlds of dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals and the ancient worlds full of alien plants and animals that were unlike anything walking the planet now. From that point on, the fascination grew. Now, I still enjoy learning about dinosaurs and prehistoric life, and I also still enjoy collecting fossils. Paleontology was the first science that I really enjoyed, and it's still my favorite one to explore.
