I rode my moped to work for the first time today and it was the BEST commute EVER. My whole day was just better for the 15 minutes that I spent buzzing down the street behind those chrome handlebars. I couldn't stop grinning, I was having so much fun. Of course, the day was a little harder to get through, becuase I wanted to get off work so that I could go ride some more, and that kind of made the day drag a little.
I keep forgetting to mention that I FINALLY found some American Legion guys giving away poppies this year for Memorial Day Weekend. I was starting to think that they didn't do that any more, which made me sad, because I have always made it a point to give the nice veterans handing them out a donation. One of my great uncles assembled poppies while he recuperated at a VA hospital, so there's some sentimentality attached there too.
In the meantime, I am still waiting for Lady GaGa's fifteen minutes to be over. I don't like her music. I don't like her style, and I really dislike her pompous attitude. I keep hoping that the world will wake up and come to its senses. It's possibly a futile wish.
