Remember when the news was about important stuff?
I was pretty disappointed today-Daschle withdraws his nomination and what do I see plastered all over the news? Christian Bale swearing at a cinematographer. I want to know, why is this even news? He's a thirty-five year-old man, meaning he's a grown up. This tape, that's being released NOW is months old-it's from the summer, which leads me to wonder why, exactly, someone has decided that they must leak it to the media and why the media has been all over it.
So, yeah, he went on a rant. I know lots of people, myself included, who have had really rotten, horrifically stressful days where someone is in the wrong place at the wrong time and does exactly the wrong thing and you just snap. He didn't throw anything at the guy, he screamed at him and he swore. In the big scheme of things-it's really not that bad and most of the expletives were used as parts of speech that weren't proper nouns. So he used the "F" word a whole lot., big whoop! He wasn't doing anything that's illegal and I don't really think the guy should be keel-hauled for the offense. I'd like to know how many of the reporters that are so frantic to point their fingers say worse things than that on a daily basis when the cameras aren't running.
