Deathly Hallows Commentary [part 2]
- Did anyone else feel bad for Voldemort in the 'King's Cross' chapter. Poor monster infant crying, all alone, and Dumbledore all "Don't look at it, Harry."? No, am I the only one of there that had a tiny moment of, "Oh, man. That sucks."?
- Also, the fairytale story about the 3 brothers. Voldemort is the descendant of the second brother, the one who killed himself, right? How did he find time to get it on, procreate and be all forelorn? It didn't add up.
- Speaking of the Parvell brothers, did anyone else thing that his lover that he brought back but couldn't be with was an inferius? Because I've asked a lot of people about this recently, namely, how does one create an inferius, and NO ONE seems to agree with me that the resurrection stone could make inferi. When Dumbledore says that Grinewald wanted the stone to make an amry of inferi, everyone else tells me that's just because he didn't understand the power of the ring. That the ring really does what it did for Harry, just make an imprint of the soul. BUT I WANTED INFERI!
- Did anyone else think that Bathilda (the one Nagini was living inside) was an inferius? [No, I'm not HUNG UP on it, okay!]
- And was I the only one who thought Harry SHOULD HAVE avada kadavered Voldie? Like, literarily [not a real word]. That was the moment that Harry should have used it. I mean, it's not like he didn't use the other unforgivables, right? Even Molly busted out with a kill!Bella move! ["NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!" LULZ, JK for your caps lock of doom!]
- And Ginny - total Mary Sue. For Shame JK, for shame.
- Oh, yes. And the kids James, Lily, Albus Severs (glad to see that Ginny had some say in those names) and Hugo & Rose!? Really, that's it? WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO FRED!?!?!
Now, these are some general things about HP that have been bothering me. And my friend told me to write them down, so I am.
- HOW THE FUCK IS HARRY A HALF BLOOD!?!?! Sorry for the outbust and the caps lock of doom, but I just don't get it. Sure, his mom was a mudblood, but she was still a witch! Voldemort, Snape - I get that. Muggle dad, Witch mom. One magical + one non magical = half blood. But how does magical + magical = half blood?
- When Voldemort killed his father and family, he was still underage. Shouldn't they have known it was him, because of the trace? [mostly this hinges on the question of HOW DID the death eaters track Harry so quickly after the wedding. was Bode under the imperius and put the trace back on Harry? In which case, the ministry should have been able to tell that it was an under-aged wizard that killed the Riddles, even if he stole his uncle's wand. Right?]
- Thestrals - you can only see one if you've seen death, right? (So that means Luna saw her mother die?) So, why can't Harry ALWAYS see the thestrals? He saw his mother die (saw her, and remembers the scream and flash of green light) when he was like 1. So why can't he see them until after Cedric?
- On a sidenote, this is also an interesting concept as the the personality of Luna. She could see things no one else could on her first trip to Hogwarts. She would have been very strange, even then. I just thought it was a neat look into her character.
That's all I can think of for now. If you have any thoughts on these things, I'd love to hear it. I will probably think of more stuff later. I'm re-re-reading DH now. So, HP fics are on the horizon. :)
