back home

still sort of recuperating from jet lag after a trip back east to visit the family last Wednesday and returning Monday night. It was an excellent trip in many regards, specifically for nice, smooth flights. I needed that, as I was more nervous for these flights than I ever have been on one. It may be the fact of riding with someone else who is nervous (Jeff) after the rukus of the Jeff-Court trip back in 05 that ended badly. And then the turbulent flight back from Reno didn't help anything. But these were nearly smooth as ice, and that was nice.

The trip was great too. My nephews are becoming a handful, though I'm chalking it up to teenage adolescence. It's also interesting in reading these zen/spiritual books on identity and self-awareness and recognition of what's going on inside you, and then being grouped with all the family and seeing so many different angles of people and pulling yourself away from it all. Crazy and great. I loved it all. And especially getting to eat at J&Gs in my home town. This is perfection. I still salivate thinking about it.

This week feels like a phone in. Hell this whole month has, and I come in to find out we have Monday off as well. Sine before Christmas, I haven't had to work a full week yet, and I love it. I wish the whole year could be like this.

work, j&gs, family trip
