So back in March, when I was reviewed at work, I was given a raise, to be "effective immediately".
But, of course, this was just after we were acquired by a bigger company, and then delays were mentioned, and we (my coworker also reviewed and given a raise at the same time as me) were told to keep looking at our checks, that it should come.
Then we were told June. Well June has come and still nothing, and no word of it happening. Yet people have been hired here in that time, and are receiving their paychecks as well.
I'm fed up with it. So much so that I've now started a letter to the higher ups stating that I want my raise, I want the back pay of that raise to the date promised, and now I want interest on that (prime of 8.25% right now). I know it can be denied, and whatever if it does, but I've been denied this money now over 3 months, and I'm sick of just hearing "it will come later". That's shitty business practice. I've also mentioned to them that according to federal rules (all mentioned by a friend), they are violating some rules that would require them to pay a penalty.
It feels oddly invigorating starting this chain of events, almost scary. I don't really care what comes of it, I just want these people to know I'm not one to be herded around like other sheep. I expect to receive what I am told, and I expect it to be done well, and to keep me informed of the process. And I'm one to call out when things are being done poorly. Granted I feel like I'm criticizing the beast, but i'm tired of being scared.
We'll see how it goes. If anything, I'm hoping this will make them just get me the raise money soon.
