Friday: I talked to mom online after treatments and signed off to clean my room before rounds. The cleaning boys clean during rounds since we aren’t in there, so I wanted to tidy up a bit before that. I sat around for a few minutes. I waited and almost fell asleep on the couch. As I stood up to walk to the ICU, it dawned on me and my heart sank. Rounds are at 9 am on Fridays’!!!! Uggh!!! Completely bummed, I got back on my own computer and started to work on my video a bit.
I also tried to install my solitaire games, which is when I found out they didn’t work. I had tried to find others like the Solitaire but all were more expensive than I wanted to pay for something I probably won’t use much - only when I’m here. We had rounds and then the usual daily little chores and were done by around 9 am. I went to my room and started to watch a movie. Once that was done and I had lunch, I laid down and took a nap until around 4:30 pm. I was so bored and was going a little nuts. I went around the hospital with my nice camera and took pictures of the foliage and fauna - got some really nice ones, including some panoramic pics of the hospital. Had rounds at 6 pm and then I went back to my room again to watch the last of my movies that I had brought. Finally, at 10:30 pm, we received a colic. As I did the bloodwork, Annamari went through the motions of working up the horse. The owner was a very nice lady - I believe she was French or something. She had brought a friend and they were talking with AM. She kept reassuring the ladies that the surgeon was coming (since Dr Haines was on-call). As soon as he walked in, though, the girls had trouble stifling laughs. Apparently Haines and Salah had gone to the beach! He was wearing a bright red shirt and his face matched it perfectly - with only a white line around his eyes to contrast it. It was quite funny!
