Sweater Weather

Sep 28, 2005 14:21

I rush out into the gray cold of the morning, happy to be holding a steaming cup of Coffee. The chill of the air bits my cheeks and nose and threatens to sink through my sweater to my skin. The occasional golden leaf stands out against the stark gray of the sky, while the rest of the leaves betray the slightest hint of yellow in their green, not yet ready to say goodbye to the warmth of summer. To me it's clear that sweater weather has arrived. Even with overcast sky's and the threat of rain, the cold is so welcome after the long hot summer. The crisp fall air brings the whisper of winter and the promise of snow.

Days like today stir the desire to curl up with a good book and a hot cup of tea. They remind us of cozy sweaters, and the warmth of the home. This is one of the beautiful things about the Fall that I love.
