Flora arrived! (another dolly, lotsa pics)
Yes for once a doll actually had a name before she got here, hehe. She came here so fast! She was ready to be picked up at the post office yesterday, only like 4 days after the seller said she had been sent, and I even chose the cheaper shipping option. She was shipped in a blythe box, heh. When I first took her up (mind you I had just come home from making a few errands and was dying from hunger) she looked kinda old and dirty and I was a little sceptical about having spent a hundred dollars on her...
But after lunch we went through the usual ritual I have with previously loved dollies; washing her face and conditioning and styling her hair - and now I just adore her! Her long, curly hair was a mess but I finally managed to brush it all out, so despite losing some curl, it looks and feels a lot better now and is much cleaner (the foam coming out was dark brown with dirt!) and softer, and smells yummy. I had planned on changing her wig (but need to find a replacement scalp) but I kinda lika this one after all. I will probably want to change it eventually though. The only thing that bothers me about her is that her her left eye-chip looks a bit damaged, probably a factory flaw, and that one of her arms is totally floppy and can't be posed. Btw, I don't really like her skirt, so it's for sale.
With this girl being my first type 1, I must say I love the body and the way the head tilts down giving a secretive/mischievous look. And I love all the screws and how they managed to give these dolls a look that makes it feel like they could've been from the 70's or something. I tried my best to hide the scalp though... I borrowed some cute butterfly clips from my sister's drawer to get her hair out of her face for the photo shoot. Didn't manage to fix the little spring on the one clip until after the photoshoot though :/

Now I'm just waiting four Souseiseki! She's taking much longer than the other american girls to arrive, which is making me a little worried. I hope she shows up soon!
