I had fun tonight discussing habits. Here's some of the ground covered.
Apparently, someone famous once said that habits are either the best of servants or the worst of masters. Bad habits, e.g. procrastination, do not serve well. So stop them!
Mmmm. Easier said than done.
To help stop, think about how habits are formed. The process, apparently, goes as follows:
(1) Thought
(2) Feeling
(3) Behaviour
(4) Habit.
That is to say a thought comes into your head, it makes you feel good/bad/whateva, that feeling induces a certain pattern of behaviour, frequency of that pattern of behaviour results in habit.
Trace habits back to thoughts and feelings, the whys and wherefores. It's all about knowing the source.
