Today I finished Ian Rankin's 'The Blood Hunt'. It's a splendid wee novel - a jolly good read! The only thing I can't understand is the title. It's the kind of title that could be given to a million other novels. There's nothing that really ties it into this novel. It definitely lacks imagination. Naff for want of a better word.
I'm moving on now to finish Tess Gerritsen's 'The Sinner'. I started it over Christmas but had put it aside. It's a book I'm reading more out of obligation than anything else. I started it and it seems crazy not to finish. Like 'The Blood Hunt' it's simply another very unchallenging piece of popular fiction. I'm craving something a bit deeper. Hopefully I'll be able to make short work of it and move on.
I've been exploring holidays. A proper road trip USA. Down the West Coast. It'd be incredible. Something I'd love to do. My only concern is cost. I want back on the property ladder and so 2007 may not be year for expensive holidays. But then again, you're only young once and I hate postponing things. If you can, you might as well go for it! Watch this space.
On the home front, I maybe moving flats, moving out from where I am to share with a friend. Again, very exciting but there are some things to be sorted so again we'll have to wait and see.
Oh and the minions have been complaining. Apparently I am a demanding patient. Mum has been getting on to me about being so particular about the way I ask for food to be prepared. Allow me to explain. My mother slaps butter on bread as if it were cement between bricks. Me being 'particular' is asking for only a slight spread. Mothers, eh?! Gotta love 'em. :-) Deep down, she loves having me back home. I'll need to get her something nice for tending to me.
