Catharsis

After a couple months of dilly dallying (and by that I mean going to school and working), all five of the core members of The Tasteful Nudes were in the same room, and it felt good. I don't know if it sounded good, but it felt good. And feeling music is just as important as hearing music. Well, maybe 60/40. (a dollar to anyone who can correctly place what movie that sentence was from.)

We laid down tracks for THREE NEW SONGS, which in the time it's taken me to write this, Robert Pollard has written THREE NEW SONGS and taken a dump too! But oh well. Bob couldn't write instrumental apocalyptical noize-surf if his muse depended on it. Can it really be instrumental apocalyptical noize-surf if we both play Les Pauls? Surf on Les Pauls is a sign of the ends times in the bible.

JIG IS UP: This song is essential blow out, noize-fuck Nudes. Should this song end or begin the new album? It's funny. As I was playing this song today, I was wearing my Sparklehorse shirt. The band I blatantly ripped the riff off from. Don't listen to The Ghost of His Smile if you want to like this song. The Jig is Up will take you to hell and back.

WASH YOUR HANDS IN HONEY: This song is possibly our Good Vibrations. It actually has "parts." It requires me to count higher than four which is hard. This song makes me want to wear a Fireman's Hat and gain 200 lbs.

MIRACLE PULSE: I like the title alot, but i realized just recently that it's really close to "Miracle Whip," which is what Weird Al will title his spoof of us. This song will slit your throat and drain every last drip of blood from your body. It'll wind it's way up your pant leg, slowly wrapping it self around you, up through your shirt and into your mouth, down your throat, and it'll electricute you, like an electric eel! It's that fucking awesome! This song has a really awesome beat. I really like that one part where we get really loud. I almost sneezed halfway recording this song. But I didn't stop playing! Tee hee.

So, counting those three, plus Africadabra, plus this one new song Robert played today, that's five songs. Spiderland is only six songs. We're pretty close. It'll be done before New Years!

I'm excited about music again. Summer sucks. No good music is ever made in the summer, and the girls won't touch me with a ten foot pole. But when the fall comes around, forget about it!

MIX THOSE SONGS JOE!
