It's The End Of the World As We Know It And I Feel Fine
Bloody hell, it's been over a month since I posted anything here. I really did intend to keep this up but the events of the past month have pretty much dominated my mind and beyond the odd doom-scroll on Mastodon I've not been very productive online. Been doing lots of CD/DVD datadisc back ups of the FLAC files and so on to take my mind of things (should the inevitable Windows meltdown in a couple of months fry my fucking hard drives as well as the OS).
Of course that's the least of problems coming out of America. The big one is the imminent return to the Dark Ages there and the global impact that will have.
It has become GLARINGLY APPARENT that most Americans are in massive denial about JUST HOW BAD this is going to be. Many are writing about it as if it's business as usual, just nastier, when it most certainly is not B.A.U. I've seen lots of those who do get it. Many trans people - those who can - are looking to get the fuck out of that country as fast as they can. It will be bad enough just being 52% of the population there; the women. A horror-show that makes everything before seem like a Disney fairground ride. But any non-white/male is in deep shit.
Black, brown, accented-speech, LGBTQIA are all basically waiting for hunting season to open on them. And it will. And how. Project 2025, the document written by the mega-capitalists and the senior Christofascists behind Trump is several times the word count of both the US Declaration of Rights and the US Constitution together. It's a manifesto to suspend both. It details, in exhaustive description just what, and how, they are going to do (TO Americans). One particular thing is Shock and Awe (terror) and SPEED of such. The first month after they get the keys to the kingdom is going to be brutal. Trump is irrelevant. he was the orange-faced clown front-man for a seriously diabolical movement that makes what happened in Germany in 1933 seem like a disorganised pub-crawl. Vance will be the quick replacement and whilst much more a part of Project 2025 he'll again only be a frontman. It's a whole cadre of the worst of them. Bannon foremost. They're out for revenge, blood and plunder. As an appetiser. Then they'll get busy.
And everyone in the UN will carry on appeasing. Because that ALWAYS works with nazis.
I shouldn't be surprised, and I'm really not, but I am exasperated that more people IN the US don't understand what's coming. With some it's denial, but for others they just don't accept that America can be TO THEM what it has been to the rest of the world - especially the countries it's invaded and looted.
If you thought the police/military/paramilitaries got away with stuff before, oh my... Now it's going to be practically MANDATORY.
There will be no consequences.
