Primeval fanarty nonsense

May 08, 2017 13:05

So, the Stephen Hart in-an-hour I tried a few weeks ago...have worked on it a wee bit more. Unfortunately, I've now reached the point where the paper is refusing any more layers of pastel so I have to admit defeat, but at least I had a try. More like him but not quite there yet. I really should stop picking images with stubble!

I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't know who Stephen Hart was (I don't get out much...) so I googled him and came up with a Trinidadian footballer and thought, no, that can't be him, so I tried again and came up with an actor whose face is very familiar to me (even though I didn't know his name) and, to cut a long story short, I thought yes! What a great likeness and I'm very impressed, particularly with the eyes and the hair.

Yay! Glad to have cheered your morning with a search for pretty online *g*. The actor, James Murray, is one of those guys that is in loads of stuff...definitely not complaining. Thanks for seeing the likeness! It was the chin that was horrifically wrong the first time, and in trying to fix it I've managed to lose the stubble effect I had and overlaid too much pastel. Sigh. Stephen is generally clean shaven, but, no, I thought I would use a non-character photo. Mental note to self: stop finding photos with stubble and any form of facial hair! Or draw women.

Ooh, just a wee addendum: just stuck another photo in the post cause the sun has finally made an appearance and I managed to get a better picture of the true colours. Not quite as frustrated now *g*.

Thank you!! Just updated the post with a pic that's a bit more like the colours in real life. Feeling happier now.

Both are gorgeous, although the colours of Stephen's face are more beautiful in the updated pic.

Are you on Twitter? If you'd tweet him this pic I'm sure he'd LOVE it and will retweet it.

Nah, not on Twitter. Takes me to manage LJ and Facebook lol. Ye Gods, I'd crawl under a rock if he saw this! Not exactly my best work.

Very nice!

The difficulty in getting good enough light for the colours is one reason I'm sticking to pencil for now!

Aw, thank you! Will have to try again to see if I can get that chin right.
