There and Back Again...

Yes, I know. Cheesy title for a post---but it's pretty accurate for my Christmas synopsis. (And there's also the fact that I am now officially reading "Lord of the Rings"---hopefully in its entirety, at least that's the goal!)

Christmas was pretty good this year----not too lively and not too different. Didn't really get out much or catch up with many people---stayed at home most of the time. Got to go to dinner with some old family friends and I was particularly excited about that! :) Went to Mamaw's for a few days and celebrated Christmas there. Then headed up to Grandma's on Christmas Day via our usual Christmas Dinner at IHOP in Bristol. As soon as we got there Grandma wanted to play duets with piano and organ and I was incredibly out of shape. I really have to work on my piano playing----it's atrocious! Still, she's amazing and was able to cover my mistakes and jump to all different keys and everything. Got to see all the family and am very excited about all the changes there. One cousin is having a baby, one is getting married, one is going to UVA! :) And I'm...well, I'm not quite sure yet. Love my family but I always clam up whenever we get together. I guess I just can't take the competitiveness of the talkers---there aren't too many but as a whole our family can be pretty talkative. (I know, surprise surprise!) Grandma and Grandad have a huge wall with pictures of all the grandkids---I'm hoping to update mine soon, as all the others have pics with their significant others, or Glamour Shots, etc. Grandma and Grandad MIGHT even make it down for Buddy and my graduations, since they're just one day apart. I'll be really thrilled if they can come! It's hard not having family close-by. Spent some very good quality time with my grandparents and I'm so thankful for them. I know they love me and they want me to be better---I don't want to disappoint them...

It's been strange being at home so much this year----I rarely get to come back at all. I've enjoyed it but at the same time, I'm ready to get back to Bham. I'll move everything back down tomorrow and start Jan Term on Wednesday (which I'm not really looking forward to). Then the Buddy, Mom/Dad, and the Watkins are coming down for the Honor Band this weekend! :) It'll be nice to have visitors.

I'm really excited about this year. I already have a lot of resolutions, which I will put into print so I can 1) Remember them, and 2) feel guilty about them if I don't complete! :)

1) Lose weight
2) Practice Piano!!
3) Call grandparents more
4) GET ORGANIZED!!!---Starting in Jan Term
5) Better plan for rehearsals, etc.
6) Church Involvement
7) PRACTICING!!!!!!!!---so I can have an amazing last recital! :)
8) More exercise---Weights/Swimming/Walking/Etc.
9) Take more pictures!!!

Happy New Year Everyone! :)
