I had so much fun tonight! It was exactly what I needed! Good friends and good conversation are always a must.
The Faculty/Student Challenge and Picnic seemed to go pretty well. We had a GREAT turnout and almost exactly the right amount of food---despite my slight mishaps, including slashing my finger on aluminum foil. I really love being a member of the School of Music---it really has provided me with a network and so many strong bonds and friends. Very few people believe me, but I'm actually a very shy person. But around music people I'm so comfortable and can just talk to anyone freely and not feel scared. Yay!
This weekend should be pretty easygoing. Tomorrow night will be VERY laidback---just laundry and sorting uniforms! :) Saturday we have an early afternoon game and probably some fun on Saturday night. Sunday means Brass at Dawson, Orchestra Rehearsal, Middle School Handbells and Desperate Housewives!
I'm so excited about Fall Break coming up. I just can't believe it's already here. Mamaw has been so excited that I'm coming up to visit and I was lucky to work it out to where I can leave Saturday morning and come back Monday night---that way I get a little longer with them. Papaw seemed really excited I was coming up too. I miss them so much---and I love East Tennesse in the Fall. Granted, it's not my home. But something about it really just calls to me---I guess that it's just embedded in me; my family has lived there for so long and has such a rich history there, and I've been going up there since a month after I was born. I just feel so comfortable there. You go to sleep hearing crickets and frogs, wake up to roosters and ducks, and everywhere you go the air is crisp and smells like a nice warm fire. Yes, I'm nostalgic and sentimental.
