Well, I'm home. It feels so strange to be back here. I really haven't been home much at all over the past year. Left B'ham early this morning to get here in time to be CHAUFFERED to lunch at Tim's (!!!) and then see Harry Potter w/ Buddy. Saw Katie Hoppe and Noah in the parking lot of the movie theatre, and found out several more people were there too. lol It's so true that Hsv is a city with small town atmosphere. Then I ran a few errands (:)) and then just started driving around town for a while. EVERYTHING is changing---the Parkway is being added onto, buildings are going up all around my house...It's just crazy. I ended up driving down to church and just sitting in the parking lot looking at the mosaic and steeple for a while. Then I ended up driving by my old house. I can't believe that I am 20 years old. Hsv has been my home since birth--soooo many memories associated with everything here. I just don't know where the time went...
ANYWAY, enough dramatic monologues. lol Last night I was in attendance for the amazing recital of the lovely Miss Joanna Vaughan! (Absolutely wonderful---I was particularly fond of the Franck, and the Langlais has really grown on me!) I was so proud---she was so confident and just played beautifully! Then tonight I got to catch up with Brian at Ding How---I've really missed him too, so that was a nice treat.
Head up to East TN tomorrow to celebrate Thanksgiving. (Honestly, I have to say, Turkey Day is just not up on my list of favorites...Not that I'm not thankful, because Lord knows I have plenty to be thankful for...) Am looking forward to seeing Mamaw and Papaw though. Head back to Hsv on Saturday to begin the cooking spree :) and, assuming I buy some nice clothes, then to church on Sun for the first time in, a year?? Haven't been to my home church in so long---I miss it like crazy. To the point where I cry at organ music...yeah. It's true.
Hope that everyone has a very happy Thanksgiving and a relaxing holiday! :)
