I took off the riding pants and put on the corset.
It is much more uncomfortable than previously anticipated.
Yes, the Faire season is over and the fall is kicking into gear, and with that Poe Evermore has opened at the mansion, and I'm playing Fanny Osgood for half of the performances.
It's kick-ass. I've got a great partner, and with his help I am finally sinking into interactive theater to a level I've never really gotten to before. I've realized how very much I missed scripts, and memorizing, and working on a stage. It's been so busy and so absorbing that I haven't even had time to miss the horses. The corset and farthingale and having to do my hair every day--oh horrors!--these things I'm okay with missing out on. But theater...oh theatre. I missed you from horseback. I'm so very glad you're back in my life.
More on all this later, I'm sure. I'm on a three-hour break between now and my next performances, and plan to scarf all the food I can before corsetry renders digestion impossible.
Cheers!
