Oh, my! I have a proclivity for humiliation. On my journey home on the subway this evening, I disconnected a bit too much, and suddenly I startled myself by singing aloud along with my Interpol CD. "She feels that my sentimental side should be held with Kidd's gloves!" And it was no meek rendition, either. I was horrified, but the man standing next to me said that he thought the incident was rather cute. Still, I wanted to lose myself in oblivion at that moment. The rest of the ride home was a tough one.
This weekend was lovely for several reasons. The first reason was green. This spring is the first I can remember in a long time that I haven't been so absorbed by work as to miss the entire greening process. I have been careful to savor every little advance of fresh and redolent life! Magnolias and other blooming trees! Ah, Mother Nature rewards us properly.
Mt. Washington also played its part in making a fine weekend. Vistas were to be had from all sides! The last time I was up there, I spent the time trapped in a cloud. Both the ascent and the descent trails were covered with about four feet of snow, but it was nice to revisit winter briefly, especially since the ambient temperature was about 60F!
Today was not nearly as brilliant. Duxbury work followed by BU work and a trip to Northeastern just doesn't stir the blood. Although I LOVE my new office at Northeastern! Oh, those guys over there must really like me! It has a blackboard even! And a really door that works! This thrills me to no end!
Tonight's dinner included a sylvan delight: fiddle heads! Yes, the do taste like the forest, but I highly recommend the taste of forest!
After these messages, I'll be right back.
