Feed those hungry eyes already!

I've caught my breath and cleared my head.

Broken Social Scene was a real treat! I think their songs really lend themselves to strong, interesting live performances, and they didn't disappoint! It was the last night of their tour, which also added to the atmosphere. Oh, and the lead singer toasted the audience with a shot of Nyquil on three occasions. All in all, I'm very glad I went, and I no longer feel bad about missing The Decemberists. (I saw the Decemberists in October, and their show was heavenly. I was in the good company of fellow tune goons, and I let it all hang out.)

Ted Leo is one swell chap. Sunday night was the first time I had ever been gripped with a strong urge to meet the band. Ted Leo had a really great way with the audience and even invited some girls from the very front to join him on stage for the last song. I wish I were pushier. Anyway, the bass player was cute, too. I saw him wandering around during Electrelane's performance, and he seemed so uncomfortable and lost. On stage he didn't look that much more assured. I felt like holding up a sign with some motivational statement. Just for him. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists put on an amazing live show, by the way. I will be sure to catch them the next time they saunter through town.

Finally, Pretty Girls Make Graves made a strong showing. Though they were not nearly as good as the other two bands, they were entertaining and very energetic. The sound people had a lot of trouble with the vocals volume control, and in addition, the lead singer just doesn't have a strong voice. But that didn't seem to be a problem because enough people were singing the lyrics that nothing was missed.

I sent Spring a formal invitation today. I hope I get a response soon.

Now I plan on spending the rest of the evening making mixed CDs for my office mates. I love those lovely ladies!

Oh, and I need to make plans for a more successful trip to the MFA. Zoe and I went to see the Gauguin exhibit on Saturday, but it sold out as we were waiting in line. We consoled ourselves by purchasing CDs at Newbury Comics and prowling Boylston Street. Next time with will not fail!
