What is your favorite element of figurative language?

Personification definitely has my vote. I like imaginative onomatopoeia, too.

Today was another typical day of work in the field in southern Maine. It snowed like a witch, and so we decided to drag the GPR unit behind our vehicle. Good times had by all, save for the GPR. It and I will be spending some quality time in the repair shop tomorrow. But all I can say is that there is nothing quite like driving along the left side of the road at 5 mph with a hugh orange antenna in tow--all while listening to Russian pop, French 80's and German techno. Yep.

And that brings me to my favorite Russian, for it was his music collection that made the day's work so enjoyable. I have such a crush on him! The type that is 95% admiration and 5% pure giddiness. He's not what you would call a "looker". Actually, he quite a bear of a Russian, but my goodness, he can put my boss in line in such a way as to steal away my breath! Plus, he is fond of the saying "Holy Schneichy", which makes me laugh like a little girl. Well, not quite, but you get the idea. Actually, I suppose this whole crush is a bit exaggerated, too. He is a really neat guy though!
