Meeting went well this morning.

My office thermostat is leaking, and making all kinds of gurgly noises.  I've called facilities.  At least the noises from the mechanical room down the hall aren't as worrisome now.  Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I told them the wrong room number when they asked where I was.  I don't know my room number.  I just know where my office is.  *sigh*

Amusing thought of the day:  Rumsfeld is supposed to lecture here on campus tomorrow.  Wonder if he still will?


1. What are your personality flaws?
There's lots, I'm sure - lack of self confidence (getting better), general crabbiness, inability to be happy where I am, etc.

2. What were you doing this morning at 8am?
Driving between the state office and campus.

3. What were you doing 15 minutes ago?
Reading through some papers to prepare for a meeting in 28 minutes.

4. Are you any good at math?
I used to be - I can still conjure up the right thought pattern if I need to.

5. Your prom night?
Didn't go - almost did.  One of my friends got dumped at the last second, and I was going to give in and go as her date, but my mom figured it was a scheme to spend the evening with my boyfriend, and wouldn't let me go.

6. Do you have any famous ancestors?
No obvious ones that I know of.

7. Have you ever taken out a loan to pay for school?
Oh yah.  We both did.

8. Last thing received in the mail?
Journal of Forestry, ads, bills.

9. How many different beverages have you drank today?
2 - milk (leftover in the bottom of my cereal bowl) and water.

10. Do you ever leave messages on people's answering machines?
All the time.

11. Do you draw your name in the sand when you go to the beach?
Not really - I mostly look for stones to skip.

12. What's the most painful dental procedure you've had?
Removal of wisdom teeth.

13. Any plans for Friday night?
Don't think so, although I may take the whole day off.  Can't call a whole lot of courthouses when they're closed for Veteran's Day.

14. Do you like the ocean?
I prefer Great Lakes.

15. Have you ever received one of those big tins of 3 different kinds of popcorn for Christmas?
Maybe... I've eaten from lots that other people have received, but don't know that any were actually mine.

16. Have you ever been to a planetarium?
Yep - they're neat.

17. Something you are excited about?
Umm...eventually getting back in the field?

18. Are any of your great-grandparents still alive?
No.

19. Describe your keychain.
They have keys on them.  Work keys have a washer with my vehicle number inscribed, and personal keys have the key fob for Susan and all my discout/membership tags for various stores.

20. Where do you keep your change?
Pockets, flat spaces, and a jar at home.

21. When was the last time you spoke in front of a large group of people?
Uhm... Depends on your definition of large.  20+ was back in April (maybe September).

22. What kind of winter coat do you have?
Most of my jackets are fleece, but I do have a down parka thing for when it actually gets cold (< 0 deg. F).

23. What was the weather like on your graduation?
I think it was nice for both, but I didn't walk for college graduation.  I went swimming during the ceremony then talked to people as they came out.  Might have been snowing for college graduation - can't remember.

24. Do you sleep with the door to your room open or closed?
Open most of the time.  We'd close it when we had pets since they were kind of noisy at night.

25. Honestly, does your crush like you back?
Haven't got one.

26. What is your current mood?
Apprehensive - trying to get most of this done before my meeting.

27. If you MUST be an animal for ONE day- what would you be?
A cat with a nice sunny spot to nap in all day.

Probably.

Be indecicive.

Haven't got one - that's the good thing about a large playlist on the computer.

Oh yeah - been about 9 years since I did it last though.  Plays, choirs, etc.

Of course.

Sure.

Funny things happen to me all the time, if by funny, you mean I laugh at what I've just done.

Depends on how comfy the bed is... and I think I already may have.  Don't remember.

They're tasty when cooked right.

Uhm... There's a couple of really old ones that I can't remember the names of at the moment.  Sing Noel Noel is a good one though.

42. What do you prefer to drink in the morning?
Water

Sometimes, if my wrists are up to it.

They're useful.

I have one?  Wow, who knew?

Lots - I have a kitchen, you know.  Also carry a pocket-knife.

Dinner stuffs last night at the store - several days worth, so that's more than 3 things.

Yes - burn first until I build up a tan.

Uhm... Two weeks ago out at training with the feds.

Whatever is in my head when I wake up - typically to myself though, not aloud.

Don't remember.

Wallet, keys, chapstick, pocket-knife.

54. Last thing that made you laugh?
Video clip of a near racing incident that Ryan showed me last night.

They were all pretty plain.

Couldn't say.  Most recent is getting my hand smacked by the edge of a racquet.

Not really - I talk to them sometimes though.

Last week sometime?  Two weeks ago?  Don't remember.

Nope

At school or work.

Not so much.

Ryan gets popcorn, I snack on that, and maybe some gummi bears.

Whichever looks more correct.

Yes - it's fun.

Probably.

No - I'm a thousand miles away.

Depends on how much money I have to spend.

70. What was the greatest prank you've ever pulled?
Don't know about greatest, but filling a colleagues jacket hood with acorns so they all dumped out the next time he bent over/put the hood up was pretty damn funny.

71. Do you pride yourself on being intelligent?
More intelligent than some, anyhow.

I'd like to think so.

Don't think so.

Sometimes - mostly no.

75. Do you get annoyed when you don't receive any comments on your live journal for a while?
Not really.

When I need to/feel like it/remember.

77. What was the worst trouble you've ever gotten into?
Getting married got me in a lot of trouble... I'm just trouble anyhow.  I stopped keeping track a long time ago.

78. Would you ever consider becoming a cop?
Probably not.  Park Ranger I could see though.  Same thing with more trees.

79. If stupidity were a fatal disease, who do you think would be the first to die?
Every other driver on Kansas roads.

Yes, but I'm not sure where it is.

81. When was the last time you visited relatives?
Uhm.  June?  Or those brief couple hours in September, if a delayed flight counts.

Dinner last night.

Journal of Forestry

84. What's one thing you get uptight about?
Somebody else could probably tell you better than me.  I have a blind spot when it comes to myself.

85. What sport are you best at?
Umm.  I swim pretty well, and enjoy racquetball.

86. Ever eaten one of those Warheads candies?
Yeah - it was pretty gross - didn't taste at all like what I was hoping for.

87. Do you prefer Tootsie Pops or Blow Pops?
Tootsie Pops - the others are just too fake, and surround stale gum.  Yick.

88. Do you ever correct grammatical and typographical errors on survey questions?
Only if they're way too glaring and obnoxious.

89. How did you get your most recent injury?
Racquet/hand collision on Monday - right index & ring fingers are kind of battered.

90. What's the most awkward question you've ever been asked?
I don't remember.  There've been a few awkward moments, but I let them pass.

91. Do you own anything from IKEA?
Yes, I'm afraid we do.  An inflatable footstool - it's a hedgehog.

92. What was the stupidest horror movie you've ever seen?
Don't care for them.

93. What about the stupidest comedy?
Anything with Jim Carrey in it.

94. Have you ever snuck into a movie?
Not that I recall.

95. True or false- There's no place like home
Depends on your definition of home.

96. The creepiest place you can think of
Either a stand of 100+ foot tall cottonwoods in a 50+ mph wind (when you can feel the roots popping under your feet) or random pastured woods full of cattle skeletons.

Of course.

98. What color is your front door?
White?  (I think?)  Yeah.  White.

99. Were you afraid of old people as a child?
I don't think so.  They were more afraid of me.  (Okay, so that was just my uncle, and that's just because all the other kids were scared of him, but I decided he had to read me a story, so I just got a book and climbed into his lap without invitation.)

100. Have you ever been visited by a Jehovah's Witness?
Maybe?  Probably?  If so, I didn't talk to them for very long.

101. Have you ever tried summoning Bloody Mary?
Doubt it - this one's a bit over my head.

Not a whole lot else going on at the moment.  Need to see if I can drum up a little permission for next week.
