i don't know.
hello..i just slept for a really long time. whoopsie daisies. so if i don't make that much sense and wander from topic to topic, it's cause my brain still thinks i'm sleeping.
i'm really tired of arguing with people. it's altogether pointless. yesterday i got into this argument with whitney for no reason. she just noticed that i was reading bushwhacked and she was reading some slander book about the clintons, and decided we should have a fight. we covered a lot of ground in a few minutes, because every time i made a valid point, she would change the subject to something else. i'm used to people not agreeing with me, and i'm used to people not being very open-minded about things..
the problem with the whole thing was that for the past few years whitney and i have been able to have calm conversations about our disagreeing. but the longer she goes to this church that she's been going to, the more mean-spirited she gets. a lot of things have changed about her, like she's always been a conservative, but she never used to be so pro-violence. i remember just a few months ago i was discussing the possibility of a draft with her, and she was horrified because she could never kill someone. now she is all of the sudden talking about war like it's no big deal, and talking about "the liberals trying to take away her right to own a gun". it's kind of disconcerting, because we know of three people so far that have undergone similiar changes when going to this particular church. it's like rush limbaugh or ann coulter teaches the services there or something. seriously. in the most extreme case, one of our friends who was quite the bleeding heart liberal girl started going there and suddenly popping up at my store with sean hannity under her arm.
i don't agree with churches being connected with politics. i really think we should be left to make our own decisions about that. and if we want to argue about right-wing conservatives being the only choice if you are a christian..let's talk about some things.
actually, this is a topic to be tackled after i've had my coffee. i think it would need a whole seperate post. so later on that.
