I started this post as a basic bla bla bla this is what I've been up to. But in the middle of writing it up mom got a call. A good friend past away. So this is my memory and farewell to a wonderful person.
Cecelia Svinth Carpenter
Cecelia died on Friday of heart failure. She was 85 years old. Cecelia was a triable elder, writer, historian.
I knew her for many years. I remember spending lots of time sitting at her table while she and my mom talked. Watching this very nice lady sipping tea amongst papers and files covering most of the table. Sifting threw the papers trying to find what it was she was talking about or a photo. She had a wicked sense of humor too. I remember her laughing a lot.
I remember drawing in my book while she told stories. She'd talk about what book she was working on, her family, etc. I remember her looking over my shoulder and commenting on my drawing. Her favorite she told me once was a sketch I did of a dog and child next to a weaving loom. She said the child had a look of pure joy.
She was a wonderful person with a great mind. She had a kind and loving heart. She will be missed.
