I know this is unoriginal now, but I wanted to make you smile, like you made me :) So here goes...
* Racing my black big wheel against your pink big wheel around the court.
* Hiding under the deck around the pool
* Fighting with the water-noodle things in our pool
* The time I put the hula hoop over you, caught it around your ankles, and pulled, not thinking that it would make you slap face down on the orange/brown linoleum.
* Coming to your softball games
* Root Beer Floats
* Going tubing up north
* Each of us learning to drive up north around the neighborhood, well before we had our permits.
* Me being jealous that you got to start driving like that at the same time I did. Even though you were two years younger! :)
* Being babysat by Jennie(?) Garbacik, and watching one of her guy friends sneak into our house.
* Being amazed at how much responsibility you juggled during high school.
* Sending you off at Camp Midicha for the first time, I remember thinking how cool it was that you got to go to a camp for diabetics, so everyone would understand your situation and you wouldn't have to do the usual routine of explaining your condition to whoever was in charge.
* Driving you to school everyday
* Our old red wagon, that we used to play with in the rain, before dad used it to mix cement.
* Fighting over whether we should get a cheese or pepperoni pizza :)
* Cleaning the bottom of the pool with our socks
* Switching off between having to clear the table or sweep the floor.
* Hating Erin Steffan because of the way she treated you
* Playing that tank war game at Hannah's house.
* Driving to Florida over easter, and coming out of the hotel in the morning to see our easter baskets in our seats of the van, and loving that you convinced mom and dad to buy me George, my squeaking monkey puppet.
* Ice skating in Katie DiNardo's backyard. And playing Aladdin on Super Nintendo.
* Listening to Katie's mom blast Gloria Estefan
* Watching in amazement as you sang beautifully and worked the crowd at Pop Concert
* Gilbert Willis, 4th of July, and watching mom's tennis tournament
* Going to mom's softball games, watching her and our aunts play. (she's doing it again this summer, but without the aunts)
* Sneaking around downstairs looking for Christmas presents
* Comparing presents, to see who got the biggest haul
* That time you got your thumb caught in the back of the white truck, OUCH!
* You being so happy with Sunshine!
* Going jet-skiing up north
* Going canoe/kayaking
* Sleeping in the library in my old tent
* Rollerblading at Kensington
* Watching America's Funniest Home Videos with all four of us on the couch, and everyone guessing which video was gonna win.
* Getting so excited to watch TGIF, back in the days of Full House, Step by Step, Perfect Strangers, Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Dinosaurs...
* Going to Uncle Paul and Aunt Grace's house all the time, for Christmas, and parties, where we'd get to go on his speed boat, and play with his pinball machine in the basement.
* Camp Dearborn, D row, and celebrating your birthday there every year
* Being so excited to go to Aunt Maria's house so you could hang out with Krista and I could hang out with Jeff
* Two words: Wheels Inn.
* Being amazed at how well you could handle your diabetes at such a young age. I'm blown away by your strength.
* Watching you head down the same paths I did two years before, but making smarter decisions. Made me a very proud older brother.
* Super Mario 3, Mario Kart, Jr. Jeopardy, WaveRace...
* super soakers
* Decorating the tree, with you doing your ornaments and me doing mine
* Watching you grow up from a little girl into an amazing woman
That's all I could think of for now, but I know there's lots more. I love ya, sis, and I'm looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.
awww, andy that was so sweet. by the way, i remember when we were over your house one time, i think sarah was there too, and you (andy) found a bees nest, and were trying to knock it down. haha. that was scary for me - being deathly afraid of bees. and erin steffan. hahah.
