He had watched over him all night long. His boots thrown away from the chair, his jacket keeping them company somewhere. His eyelids were starting to feel heavy, too heavy for holding out. He had been watching over Archie since he was in that state. He had spurred him to eat every moment. But, now that Archie was gradually recovering and, most importantly, finding the joy of living again, Horatio was starting to show the first hints of breakdown. His head was bowing under the urging sleep. He shuddered slightly, then felt something soft caressing his hand.

"You need some sleep". Archie's voice was just a whisper and, for a moment, Horatio thought it was a dream. "You have a comfortable cot in our cell. Doesn't worth it".

At the beginning, Horatio had got angry, but now this little, private game between them made him smile: Archie who was claiming he did not deserved his care, Horatio who was trying everytime to prove him in a different way he was wrong. But, now, he was too tired to play.

"You know? You're right. It's not worth it", he said, firmily. Archie peered at him for a moment, speechless. Then, they both smiles. "Shame on you! I've almost believed you!", Archie said, tossing in his bed.

Horatio fixed himself up in his chair and stretched lazily. He would have stayed there, as he did every night, till someone would have come and waken them, next morning.
