Interpretation nio:1

Valentines day originated in ancient Rome when wolves would plague the city during winter. Shepards would pray to the god Lupercus to protect them and in order to thank him they held a festival on february14th called Lupercalia. During the festival single girls and boys would be matched up and it was assumed they'd be partners for the remainder of the year.

To christianise the holiday priests changed the festival to the day of saint Valentine. It is believed that during the holy crusades soldiers were not allowed to get married, Valentine felt sorry for them and married then secretly. Another story says that while Valentine was in jail he fell in love with the jailers daughter and signed love letters " from your Valentine"

Hmm, it kinda puts things into perspective dos'nt it?
