Dad said to me, "Don't you have anything you want to say to your brother?", prompting me to make the "friendly greeting" we had discussed, despite my prostestations and pride.
I leaned in close to the offending party in question, looked him straight in the eye, and said what was in my heart:
"What you did to me made me who I am...and I am an amazing person."
He laughed in my face, Dad called after me as I walked away, feeling victorious for once and for all, and I woke up at 5:30 this morning feeling better than I have in a long time. I couldn't have said it better if I was awake.
