two quick feel-good notes
last night, while looking out my window at the park, i saw a man in a wheelchair slaloming the trees that line the boardwalk. (for those of you who don't know, i once raced slalom on snowboard for a local resort's team, so i have plenty of nostalgia for all things racing or slalom-related).
also last night, i ran into a beautiful young woman in the laundry room, twice. we smiled to each other, but didn't say so much as "hello." tonight, when i got home from work, i needed to take out the trash, but changed first. i threw on what i'd been wearing last night, and for a moment a very middle-school thought flittered through my head: "what if i happen to run into that girl? will she notice i'm wearing the same clothes as last night?" i dismissed it cuz, well, what are the odds, y'know. aaaaand then she and i passed in the hall, she was coming from the trash room, me going to it! haha! what are the odds?!!
