John Lennon was an artistic genius.
But he was also a neglectful father. Paul did more for John's first son Julian than John himself did.
He wrote "Give Peace A Chance"
But he was an abusive husband, even to his dear Yoko.
He wrote "Imagine."
But he also wrote "Run for your Life." (which i often prefer to the former).
People embrace him as a visionary and ignore the fact that he was a deeply, deeply flawed person. The Beatles are my favorite band and i suspect always will be and John was an excellent solo artist when yoko's influence wasn't too strong, but he was too flawed a person for me to mourn him as i would a deity of some sort.
