He's forgotten how hard it is to see the stars, here.
So many years away, on two different planets, and the thing he carries closest to the surface back to his home planet is the skies at night: how different, how clear, how very many stars. He didn't expect that to be the thing he misses the most, looking up at the night sky that should be so familiar, and still he feels...lost.
He's given leave and back pay, visits familiar streets and people, yet each night, he looks up at the stars, aching to return to home and dreams.
