Title: Don't Blink - 9/? Authors: rosewarren and ladychi Characters: Rose, Ten Summary: AU. What if Rose had stayed through Doomsday and was the one to end up in 1969 with the Doctor? Rating: PG
I can just the picture the look of complete horror on the Doctor's face. Your chemical description of polyester really makes me question ever wearing it again, lol.
I love the way you have this underlying UST but it's not thrown in the reader's face. It feels very much like it did on the show, with little moments that both frustrate and amuse.
I LOVE this! You've got the interplay between them down to a fine art!
Man-made fibres in M&S - how can anyone forget?! Crimplene was the fabric of choice, I seem to recall (*shudders*). I'm amazed that there weren't more horrible plastic melting accidents as everyone smoked then as well!
One slight slight anachronism (please forgive me for this): British TV - all three - count 'em - three channels stopped with the national anthem about midnight up until about - ooh, early 1980s or so? I remember it well, because my brother used to work 12-hour shifts, and he asked me to teach him to knit in desperation in 1983 so that he wouldn't fall asleep on duty as there was NOTHING to watch even though by then we did have Channel 4! (Mind you, he did come up with some pretty nifty sweaters as a result ;D)
I will take the tv channels under advisement. it was one of those details that we SHOULD have checked but didn't. Rest assured I will correct that in the next chapter. That's one of the hazards of not living in the UK. :)
I caught the tv thing too, but then I just assumed that you meant the Doctor watched tv until midnight, and then maybe turned it on again early in the AM before Rose woke up.
