I'm sorry to GO INSANE here but I've been waiting for the thing to come back for 2 years! It's been up on Amazon as set for DVD release for a year! Maybe now they show season 2 I will GET MY DVDS!!!
For those who do not know, which will probably be many of you, this is a British detective drama featuring Amanda Donohoe and Kris Marshall (aka the idiot son from My Family) as odd-couple partners DI Alembic and DS Stone. It is slightly offbeat and weird and has quite a streak of dark humour. I adored it beyond belief and didn't tape it because I planned to get the DVDs that would surely follow and have regretted that decision ever since.
The thing that makes this show is that Kris Marshall's character is just played so strangely. Casting the actor universally known as THAT character in My Family as a detective??? Brilliant! And he was so very weird and kept getting obsessively interested in odd things and was terminally awkward with people. (Hm, now why could it be that struck a chord with me? *g*) Seeing that character type as a lead in a crime drama? YAY!
You have no idea how hard I had to search to find a promo pic of this show to make the icon. Murder City is seriously in need of more love.
