Oh, I adored this! It's funny, since you prefer Chrestomanci to Howl and I'm the other way around, that the story should work so well for me.

One little nitpick, though - unless I'm very much mistaken, Howl is a "Jenkins", not a "Jenkin".

Far as I'm aware, his real name is Howell Jenkins, but my copy of the book at least docks the 's' when he goes by 'Sorceror'.

Just because I prefer Chrestomanci doesn't mean I can't really, really like Howl as well. :) But I'm better at writing Chrestomanci - Howl is much more slippery to capture. Heh. I'm really glad the story works for you.

Seen the movie yet, btw? Eeee! I can't wait! *bouncebouncebounce*
