This is a poem. My writing has changed a lot.
The day approaches;
My soul feels like muddied snow
Once so pure, now so walked on.
I’m spinning in darkness
Calling out to deaf ears:
What do I do?
Where am I supposed to go?
Which path do I take?
Answer me!
The day approaches;
Decisions are made and broken,
Smashed across the grave of circumstance;
Leaving me to pick up the sharpened pieces, alone
I wonder what you would say
If you wanted to see.
The day approaches;
Panic chokes me; fear tugs at my heart
I’m being murdered by my emotions.
Is this mercy you are showing?
Accepting my sentence without a fight?
You were the light,
Now you reflect my darkness
Back at me
The day approaches
You turn away, as always
I question how much you care
I run from the answer
It hurts me more
Than the need to ask the question
You don’t face me
But I can see your eyes
Unclouded by the tears
Which blur mine
The day is here
And I accept my ignorance.
I will not choose my path:
I will close my eyes
And walk forward.
