was searching for songs with melodies/lyrics that *i thought* would capture the essence of spain as a country and as a character DON'T JUDGE ME;;; was also careful to put in a variety of different genres and styles to, you know, show a fully rounded depiction of spain through the music (who am i kiddingOTL)
wanted to stick to spanish songs strictly from spain, but decided to let in some exceptions which were... exceptional?;;;;
