yesterday i got to watch that new batman film! it was not bad. really liked anne hathaway as catwoman; i admit i didn't expect her to play the part well but aha i'm glad i was proven wrong! ;v; plus i really liked her costume! and those goggles that double up as cat ears!
two days ago i finished reading Artemis Fowl and the Last Guardian. didn't really like the ending but it's nice to have closure to this series? TvT artemis fowl is a fantastic character!/// and holly and mulch too i feel ;v;!!
oh and on sunday (i think?) i watched chico y rita. the rotoscope style animation was a little hard to appreciate, but the music was fantastic ;v;////

the music, animation, setting, characters, storyline... they all work together beautifully to draw you into the sad but enchanting world of tatischeff?? jacques tati's influence is all over in the film! was especially excited when they paid homage to him with that mon oncle reference (the only film i watched by him, that being said lol). an interesting quote when i was reading up on the film:
script for The Illusionist was originally written by French comedy genius and cinema legend Jacques Tati as a love letter from a father to his daughter, but never produced...
djslkadsa oh man this comes out so strongly through the metaphor of magic, which is wonderful! personally interpreted the film as tati's concern about the fading away of magic/imagination and wonder in an increasingly modern society. i guess that's what makes this film a great one; so much room left for interpreting various themes and concerns//////

i don't know why, but bodie strikes me as someone who has it really easy in life because everything always, somehow, goes his way. if he was in an rpg, his luck stats would be way high i think?! despite the comic i think angel is kind of lucky too. i mean i would think so, all those nights of poker haha. well too bad his luck doesn't translate where miss aubrey is concerned!
