last night I went into the labor and delivery triage at Kaiser Hospital because I had not felt the baby move as often as I should have. As soon as I walk through the doors, there is a birthing room right there and all I could hear where these horrible screams of someone giving birth. I almost turned around and walked out.
They hooked me up to a fetal monitor where I could hear his heartbeat and see on the screen his heartbeat. They said he was active, but I told them I still couldn't feel him. They did an ultrasound and said my placenta is in the front and since he's behind it that may be why I couldn't feel him as much. I was so relieved everything was fine though. On the monitor I was having a lot of contractions *none that were painful thou* and so they examined me and said my cervix is closed, but that's normal for someone who's already delivered before. I'm not quite sure what that means though.
On the ultrasound he's measuring perfect and he kept trying to grab the placenta which was so funny! I got to see him yawn and rub his eyes. He's so cute! As the dr said, he is running a marathon in my stomach and could not believe how active he is.
I decided this weekend I need to pack my hospital bag and finish things around the house. I keep putting things off and I really should get everything done so that's one less thing to worry about. They said I probably won't make it to my due date....but that could just mean a day or two early. who knows. better to be prepared though!
