Squishy

I'm really not the weepy sort of mom. I didn't cry when my kids learned to walk, or ride their bikes, or the first time they said "I love you" (or "I hate you"). I don't cry when they get hurt, don't make a team, come in second (or last). I am more the cheerleader sort. I am happy for them, their new found independence, new abilities, new perspectives, new maturities......

But I have been all squishy and leaky all day watching DS's "recognition ceremony" for the end of elementary school. It just dropped in on me out of the clear blue sky this morning when I went in to school with them to help DD get all her "teacher for a time" (she chose space) stuff into the school. There was a HUGE chalk art mural out front congratulating the class of 2016.

Any of you experienced moms (or dads) got any gouge for me? Why the waterworks?
