hey yeah. it was so fucking wierd. i just drove up to melbourne today, for power and comfort and all. the weather was really nice down in boca, i was thankful for that; our house was cooler with the windows open than we keep it with the air-conditioning usually. and i kind of liked reading by candlelight/flashlight once it got dark, and then falling asleep at like, 9 pm. haha i'm a loser, but i enjoyed it. but i was really worried about not being able to reach my mom and other family members i knew would be freaking out. val and i rode our bikes to the pay phones at the gas station in front of publix on palmetto and hogged those for a while. other than that, i mostly missed having internet.

yeah on monday, everyone in our neighborhood was just walking around checking out the damage. including me. and it was so cold! i was so amazed by how much had happened. like you said, all these threats of terrible hurricanes and nothing ever happened, and then this one took so long to get here, i didn't even consider it a minor danger. and then this happened. damnnn. and i waited several hours for gas today just so i could drive up here. that was loads of fun.

anyways, i'm thinking we might have school monday, cuz streetlights and gas stations and such are getting power, so i would guess that campus will be up there on the top priorities list for FLP people. but i'm just being pessismistic, so that if it ends up being cancelled longer i'll be happier. :-) i hope you enjoy being home. talk to you soon. <3
