wilma ended up being a lot worse than it was expected to be... therefore, we were all unprepared with food and supplies. more than 3 million peole in south florida are without power right now- this hurricane has had the most damage on flordia since 1950. some people won't get power back for up to a month- and the forcast is in the 80s... i heard today that our area is expected to get power back between nov 8-14th.. school is for sure cancled until monday, however, its doubtful we will start back by then since boca will still probably be powerless...

it was so odd to go out after the hurricane had passed monday. all the palm trees were broken in half, roofs were torn off and street lights were detached and on the side of the road. our swimming pool had a huge street lamp in it. i had never seen so many people just out and walking around the streets... i suppose with no electricity what else are you going to do? no one has service on their cell phones either... it was like a total time warp: no electricity, so way to contact people. i couldn't even tell my parents i was okay.

my roommate, elle, and i stood in line over and hour at one of the few places open that had a generator and got a pizza. people were going crazy fighting over food, lying when an order was ready saying it was thiers. it was like a madhouse. no one really was prepared for wilma to be this bad, especially since we've had so many hurricanse pass in the past 2 years that were predicted to be bad and really weren't for us.

anyways, i left yesterday and am now in georiga so i can traning and have electricity. elle and matt came with me. we don't know how long we'll be here, just a day by day thing i suppose. but anythings better than being without electricity in 80 degree + weather.

well, that's probably my longest entry ever. maybe i'll update on the situations later. <3
