post-election and suddenly everyone is a political theorist

Nov 15, 2016 22:48

please just stop.

just because you watched CNN throughout the night of the election

just because you read a few articles

does not mean you are a political theorist able to comment on the election or the results or the could haves and what ifs

don't try to predict the future of America and foreign relations

politicians go back on their word all the time

not every bill that makes its way through the house, senate actually gets signed into law

i am not promoting or condeming the president-elect

i am a mere politial science student sick and tired of not being taken seriously when i comment on an area that really is my area of study, while all you casual watchers make big long statements and try to argue with me about an election you barely watched.

you dont understand the political history, you dont understand the electoral college system, you don't understand how important the role media has played, did you guys even read the wiki leaks, did you look at all news sources...

i did, my classmates in american elections seminar class did.

i wrote a paper and prepared a debate on the divided america and trump and the cultural wedge (a side assigned to my team by my professor)

don't argue with me over these topics you barely know anything about.

we can definitely have a discussion, i have a lot of questions too, and i will ask them but i don't have the solutions. if i did i would have well be on my way to run for office somewhere i imagine

i have questions and thoughts and many many areas to research and discover

please don't denounce my area of study, wave it off as something you can debate with me on when all you did was watch ABC and CBC during some odd times during the the week leading up to the election day.

you wouldn't fight your surgeon just because you watched a health documentary, would you?

well then, rants
