Every Wed. night the Botanical Garden hosts this picnic in the park thing where bands come and play for a couple hours. Even though it is hotter than the third ring of hell out we make the trek and go. It’s insanely expensive, not the admission - that’s free, but buying everything for our picnic feast every week. Last week our grocery bill was $75! Seventy-five dollars for food for three people and Kyan; we are going to have to start better planning this out.
It was soooo hot Keary had to put napkins behind her sweaty knees. lol!!
Rachel's tan leg and my pale arm.
Kyan took over the camera and took this fabulous pic.
The dancing lady is a lady that comes every week. She sets out her chair and then spreads out two large blankets in front of her. At first we thought she was with a group of people, since she was saving such a large amount of space. We also thought she had to be from some type of group home or special center but she was there alone by herself dressed in a tutu, feather boas, arm bands with fluttering scarves, a crown and several props. When the music started she got up and rolled her two blankets to the side and started to do this interpretive dance thing. It was fascinating. We were supposed to be there to watch the wonderful bands, but we kept watching her. Every song she pulled out a new prop to dance with - an umbrella, pom poms, a parrot, etc. We couldn’t look away.
