Episcopalians and Catholics give all little children a St. Christopher pendant. (I have several.) This is the patron saint of travelers and children, protecting them.

Also, once Catholics are confirmed, they get a patron saint for their adulthood- they may get a pendant, I'm not sure, but I know the St. Christopher thing is a definate.

Actually, I've never heard of the St. Christopher thing, and I was a Catholic for more than half of my life, so I think that one depends. You do get a patron saint at confirmation, though. No one I know got pendants then either. But, there's variation across the board. I've never used a garnet, celestite is my stone of choice for clear thought, I've used that pretty often in meditation. I carry Lapis with me when I need to be loquacious. But I'm more of a candle than a stone person.

Also, I love your icon. ^_^

Awesome, thank you! I didn't think you used garnet I was just using that as an example so you knew what I was looking for. ^_^

This has nothing do do with the conversation, but your icon made me far too happy.
